Sneh Rana’s Head Injury in ODI Collision with Vastrakar

After a break, the Indian Women’s team resumed their cricket journey. After finishing the fixtures with England, they are now locking horns with the Australian Women’s team. In the second ODI match of the series, India’s spin sensation Sneh Rana was involved in a serious collision with Pooja Vastrakar while fielding in the first innings. After that horrible collision, the bowler complained headache and Left the field. 

The Uncanny Moment on the Field:

After losing the first ODI match against the Australian Women’s team, both teams met again for the second ODI match of the series. The Wankhede Stadium is witnessing another thrilling fixture. While fielding in the first innings, Indian spin bowler Sneh Rana met an injury. That is a setback for the team. 

The injury happened in the 25th over of the first innings. Debutant Shreyaka Patil was bowling in that over. In the fifth delivery of the over, Moony played a short-of-length between backward point and point. In those places, Pooja Vastrakar and Sneh Rana were fielding. 

While collecting the ball, both the players collided in a worse way. The situation was really bad. Rana was down on the ground and then a stretcher came to carry her off the ground. But the spinner walked later and went out of the ground. 

After the incident happened, BCCI gave an official update about the incident. On their social media handle, they wrote, “Rana complained of a headache after a collision while fielding during the second ODI against Australia. She has been taken for scans and she will not take any further part in the ongoing ODI. Harleen Deol has been named as a concussion substitute.”

Match Tour:

In the second ODI, the Australian Women’s team won the toss and decided to bat first. Australia gave a smooth start. The Aussie opener Phoebe Litchfield played a knock of 63 runs in 98 balls. Alyssa Healy walked away quickly after scoring 13 runs. Ellyse Perry scored an amazing half-century. Tahila McGrath scored 24 runs in 32 balls. In 50 overs, they scored 258/8.

While batting in the second innings, India lost the first wicket quickly. Yastika Bhatia scored 14 runs in 26 balls. Smriti Mandhana scored 34 runs in 38 balls. Richa Ghosh completed her half-century and batting on 51 runs. Jemimah Rodrigues is standing on 40 runs in 50 balls. They need 106 runs more to win the match.
