Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) take on Royal Challengers Banglore (RCB) in match 10 of IPL 2024 on Friday, March 29. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. KKR won against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their first game at home.
They will be now on the move for their next three games against RCB, DC, and CSK before coming back to Kolkata on April 14. The Knight Riders were lucky in a way with their win against Sunrisers Hyderabad. Virtually it was Harshit Rana who kept his cool in the final over and delivered a win for KKR.
Heading into this game, KKR will need to do well in all departments. They need to sort out their opening combination and the bowlers will need to step up at Chinnaswamy. The Sunil Narien has not been working since 2022. Thus KKR will need to find an opener alongside Phil Salt.
The seam department as a whole needs to have a better outing led by Mitchell Starc who was very expensive in the first match. Gautam Gambhir’s biggest challenge will be to bring out the best from Starc and the entire bowling lineup.
He will also need to put an end to KKR’s woes at the top. The side has lost the most wickets inside the powerplay in the last two seasons. They lost three in the first game including their skipper Shreyas Iyer. Also for KKR to do well, their spinners Sunil Narine, Varun Chakravarthy, and Suyash Sharma.

Shreyas Iyer (C)
Shreyas Iyer will bat at three. He was dismissed for a duck in the first game but has decent form on his back. He scored a 95 in the Ranji Trophy final in the second innings. He is back as the skipper this season after missing the last.
Nitish Rana
Rana will slot in at four. He scored 9 off 11 balls in the first match against KKR. He spoke about scoring 600 runs in the pre-season presser for Kolkata Knight Riders. He scored 413 runs last year.
Ramandeep Singh
Ramandeep batted at five in the previous game and might bat at that number against RCB as well. His 35 off 17 balls provided the impetus for the Knight Riders.

Mitchell Starc
Starc will slot in at eight. He went wicketless and gave away 51 runs against SRH. Kolkata Knight Riders will ideally hope that he steps up against RCB. He needs to take wickets inside the powerplay.
Sunil Narine
Narine will be one of the three specialist spinners for KKR. He bowled a spell of 1 for 19 against SRH. He should not be sent to open the batting by his franchise. He has 164 wickets for KKR.
Harshit Rana
Rana will be the specialist Indian seamer in the XI. He defended 13 off the final over against SRH and has been backed well by the Knight Riders.

Impact Sub- Suyash Sharma
