Travis Head (62) brought up his half-century in just 18 balls before Abhishek Sharma destroyed the Mumbai Indians bowlers. The young batter made sure that he outshined the Australian batter and made everyone stand and applaud him for his batting masterclass.
Abhishek Sharma brought his half-century two balls earlier than Travis Head did and made Mumbai Indians batters look clueless. The southpaw scored 63 runs off just 23 balls and batted with a strike rate of around 275 in his innings, slamming 3 fours and 7 sixes.
After that, Aiden Markram (42*) and Heinrich Klaasen (80*) stole the limelight and made sure that don’t waste the start by the top order. They brought their best with the bat and added an unbeaten partnership of 116 runs between them from just 65 balls.
Based on the solid batting effort from everyone, Sunrisers Hyderabad posted a gigantic total of 277 runs on the board. They broke Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s record of highest total of 263 runs. RCB held the record for 11 long years in the tournament.

SRH vs MI, IPL 2024 Match 8- Mumbai Indians innings: Tilak, Ishan, Namaand n, and Rohit give their best but Mumbai fail to chase the target
Mumbai Indians made sure that they gave their everything in the chase of 278 runs. Opener Ishan Kishan (34) and Rohit Sharma (26) came out all guns blazing and set the tone for the team. They added 56 runs for the opening partnership before the youngsters in Naman Dhir and Tilak Varma took charge.
Naman and Tilak put pressure on Sunrisers Hyderabad and made sure that they kept Mumbai Indians in the game, coping up with the rate of 14. The duo added 84 runs together before Naman was back in the hut after scoring 30 runs.
Tilak Varma went on to hit a solid half-century but perished for 64 runs. After he got out, Mumbai Indians came on the backfoot as they couldn’t score runs freely. Hardik Pandya (20) and Tim David (42) couldn’t carry on the momentum as they lost the game by 31 runs.
