MS Dhoni is known for his ability to keep his emotions under check on the cricket field. No matter what the situation is, the former India skipper skipper is hardly seen displaying any sort of reaction or emotions.

However, MS Dhoni could not help but give a brilliant reaction after Matheesha Pathirana came up with an absolutely stunning catch to dismiss David Warner in the ongoing game between Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals in Vishakhapatnam.

DC captain Rishabh Pant won the toss and opted to bat first. David Warner and Prithvi Shaw gave the Capitals a solid start. The duo added 93 runs for the first wicket in less than ten overs before the Australian departed. On the third ball of the tenth over bowled by Mustafizur Rahman, Warner went for a reverse lap.

It was a full and slower delivery and Warner made a decent connection. At first, it looked like the ball would go past Pathirana who was standing at short third man. However, the Sri Lanka star made a full-length dive and caught the ball with his outstretched right hand.

It was a stunning catch from Pathirana and MS Dhoni’s reaction said it all. The former CSK captain was all smiles and was clapping as he walked towards his younger teammate to congratulate him for his brilliant effort on the field.

Watch the catch from Matheesha Pathirana and MS Dhoni’s reaction:

Warner departed after scoring 52 off 35 balls with the help of five fours and three sixes. Ten runs later, Shaw departed as well after being dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja. Playing his first match of IPL 2024, Shaw scored 43 off 27 balls.

Talking about the game, DC were on 122 for 2 in the 14th over at the time of writing this report. Captain Rishabh Pant and Mitchell Marsh were batting for DC. The Delhi-based outfit is eyeing its first win of the season while CSK are eyeing their third straight win.
