Virat Kohli is the most talked about cricketer in recent times. Even when he is not a part of the Indian team, there are talks of Kohli’s off-field antis as well.

The former Indian skipper is not a part of the first two Tests against England. In his absence, India failed to chase 231 as England won the first Test by 28 runs and are leading the series.

It was a shocking defeat for Team India who are considered masters of their home conditions. Heading into the second Test in Vizag, there are talks about whether the team management will dish out another rank-turner.

Kohli pulled out of the first two Tests due to personal reasons. He informed the board and the skipper Virat Kohli regarding his decision. There was a lot of speculations regarding Kohli’s decision with the English media seeing it as an opportunity for the b=visitots to take a 2-0 lead in the series.

“Virat has spoken to Captain Rohit Sharma, the team management, and the selectors and has emphasized that while representing the country has always been his top priority, certain personal situations demand his presence and undivided attention,” BCCI said in a statement.

“The BCCI respects his decision and the Board and team management has extended its support to the star batter and is confident in the abilities of the remaining squad members to step up and deliver commendable performances in the Test series. “The BCCI requests the media and fans to respect Virat Kohli’s privacy during this time and refrain from speculating on the nature of his personal reasons” the BCCI statement further read.

Meanwhile, Pakistan pacer Aamer Jamal in a recent fan interaction on social media had an “Ask Me A Question” session with his Instagram followers. During the interview, a random fan asked Jamal “Is Virat Kohli Goat”. Jamal had an interesting answer to the question saying that “No he is a human”.

Jamal had an interesting Test series against Australia recently. Though Australia whitewashed Pakistan 3-0 in the series, Jamal made an impact in the series. He scored 143 runs in three matches at an average of 28.60. This included his career-best 82 in the first innings of the Sydney Test. He also took 18 wickets in the series to end up as the second-highest wicket-taker in the series.

Talking about Virat Kohli, after missing the first Test, he will be missing the second Test as well due to personal reasons. Alongside him, KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja will also miss the second Test due to injury concerns. India are already without Mohammed Shami who is undergoing treatment for his ankle injury.

Safaraz Khan received his maiden India call-up ahead of the second Test against England starting on February 2 in Visakhapatnam. India lost the first Test by 28 runs, and are trailing in the series and have dropped to the fifth position on the WTC points table. Sarfaraz along with Washington Sundar and Saurabh Kumar were added to the Indian squad for the second Test. Sarfaraz came in as a replacement for Rahul while Sundar was named a potential replacement for Ravindra Jadeja.
