Bengaluru is all set to host WPL 2024 match 5 between Royal Challengers Banglore Women and Gujarat Giants on February 27, Tuesday. A total of 11 matches will be played in Bengaluru which which Delhi hosts the second phase of the tournament. 

RCB Women is led by Smriti Mandhana. She led her team to a win in their campaign opener against UP Warriorz. However, she bagged 13 with the bat. She is yet to score a fifty in the tournament. Her WPL highest score of 37 is against this very team. 

The franchise consists of some big names like Elysse Perry and Sophie Devine. This year they bagged the likes of Georgia Wareham and Sophie Molineux both of whom performed in the last game. However, it was Shobana Ashs who won the game with her fifer. 

Beth Mooney returns to lead the side as she replaces Sneh Rana. She has the tough task of bringing the side back to winning ways. She was ruled out due to a calf injury last season. 

Beth Mooney will need help from her Australian teammate Ashleigh Gardener. The likes of Sneh Rana, and Tanuja Kanwar will be the specialist spinners. Harleen Deol, Laura Wolvaardt and Phoebe Litchfield key batters. 

The franchise signed Meghna Singh for Rs 30 lakh, Trisha Poojitha for Rs 10 lakh, Priya Mishra for Rs 20 lakh, Lauren Cheatle for Rs 30 lakh, Kathryn Bryce for Rs 10 lakh, Mannat Kashyap for Rs 10 lakh), Veda Krishnamurthy for Rs 30 lakh and Tarannum Pathan for Rs 10 lakh).

However, they have injury concerns with Kashvee Gautam not available due to injury concerns. She was a part of the Smriti Mandhana-led Trailblazers in the Women’s T20 Challenge back in 2020.

The Giants have named Sayali Sathgare from Mumbai as a replacement for young Kashvee. Lauren Cheatle is unavailable due to health concerns with Lea Tahuhu named as her replacement.
