India batter Suryakumar Yadav was elated after Mumbai batted Sarfaraz Khan earned his maiden call-up. The right-hander was included in the team for the second Test of the ongoing five-match series against England, slated to be played from 3rd February in Vizag.

Sarfaraz Khan was named as the replacement in the Indian team for the second game after KL Rahul was ruled out. The Karnataka batter complained of pain in the right quadriceps after the first Test and hence was deemed unfit to part in the second match.

It was a very well-deserved call-up for Sarfaraz Khan as he has been toiling hard in domestic cricket for more than the last two years. The batter didn’t put a foot wrong in the FC cricket and despite nailing almost everything he failed to make the cut into the Test team.

Sarfaraz Khan impressed many by with his performances in the ongoing unofficial series between India A and England Lions. He recently racked up the century and made his case strong. The batter scored 161 off 166, laced with 18 fours and 5 sixes, and helped his side win the game.

It was only a matter of time since he earned his Test call-up because he was consistently knocking on the doors of selectors. With the kind of form he is in and the amount of runs he has piled up, it won’t be a surprise if he makes his debut for the team.

As Sarfaraz Khan was included in the Indian Test team for the second Test against England, Suryakumar Yadav expressed his excitement. The T20 specialist posted an Instagram story with him and said that his inclusion calls for celebration. He stated:

“Happiest here. Man India call up. Utsav ki taiyaarrii karo.”
