The year 2023 has been ended on a memorable note. Now the world is celebrating the new year and waiting for some thrilling cricketing fixtures. The last year was eventful for Team India. After going through a lot of highs and lows, Team India created a lot of memories. They won the Asia Cup in a dominating way but the dream was shattered after losing the World Cup final. However, the year 2024 is here. A new beginning promises new hopes. Let’s check Team India’s schedule in 2024.
Journey of 2024:
The 2023 was eventful. The Asia Cup and ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup thrilled fans all over the fans. In the Asia Cup, India played exceptionally well and won the trophy. But they faced hard luck in the World Test Championship final and World Cup final. In the World Cup 2023, India was in great form. They won all the matches till the final against Australia. On the final day, Australia defeated them and won the trophy for the sixth time.
Team India is currently in South Africa. After the World Cup, they traveled there for a long tour. In the first Test against South Africa, Team India faced a huge defeat of an innings and 32 runs. The next Test match of the series is scheduled for January 3. This will be India’s first fixture in 2024. Both teams are eagerly waiting to lock horns in the second Test in Cape Town.
After playing the second Test against South Africa, Team India will travel back home. In January, they will play T20 matches Against Afghanistan. After finishing that, a long Test series is scheduled with England. Team India will play five Test matches against England from the end of January to March. The matches will be played in Hyderabad, Visakhapatnam, Gujarat, Ranchi and Dharamshala.
The T20 World Cup and Other Fixtures:
The main attraction of 2024 is the T20 World Cup. Fans across the globe are excited about this tournament. The ninth edition of the tournament will commence its journey from June 4. The final match will be held on June 30. The United States and West Indies will host the tournament jointly. 20 Teams will lock horns to win the T20 World Cup Trophy. India is ready to conquer again.
After finishing the T20 World Cup campaign, Team India will travel to Sri Lanka in July. they will play three ODIs and three T20 matches in the neighboring country. In September and October, Bangladesh will travel to India to play two Test matches and three T20 matches. After that, the Kiwis will come and play three Test matches against India. In November and December, Team India will travel to Australia to play four Test matches. That will be the last fixture of 2024.
