They share a lot of fun moments, and during the lock down, they played a lot of PUBG and spent considerable time together off the field. He further underscored that he considers himself fortunate to have learned a lot from Dhoni.

“It took me 2-3 years to get comfortable around him (Dhoni). I see him as an elder brother and I think he treats me as a younger brother. We have our fun moments. During lockdown, we played a lot of PUBG together. We played a lot of games together. We spent a lot of time together off the field. I’ve been lucky to learn so much from him,” Chahar said in an interview with PTI.

Chahar on Dhoni’s role in shaping his career

Chahar credited Dhoni for providing him with a significant opportunity to play for India. He emphasized that Dhoni’s role was pivotal, especially in the IPL, where he got a chance to play all 14 games in 2018, ultimately contributing to his selection in the Indian team. It is worth noting that the Agra-born cricketer was instrumental in CSK’s title triumph in 2018, claiming 12 wickets in ten games.

“I would say because of him only I got a chance to play for India because before that, he gave me a really big chance to play all the 14 games in IPL. In 2018, I played all the 14 games,” the 31-year-old added.
